Pistons fans had harsh chant for team owner
Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores Brian Bradshaw Sevald-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Pistons are closing in on the longest losing streak in NBA history, and their fans want a drastic change at the top of the organization.

The Pistons lost 119-111 at home to the Utah Jazz on Thursday night. With seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, some fans who stuck around for the finish at Little Caesars Arena began chanting, “Sell the team!”

Tom Gores purchased a majority stake in the Pistons in 2011. He became the sole owner of the franchise in 2015. The Pistons have been to the playoffs just twice since Gores entered the mix. They were swept in the first round both times.

It is hardly a surprise that fans want new ownership. Detroit’s loss on Thursday night was their 25th straight. The NBA record for consecutive losses in a single season is 26, which is a mark that was hit by the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers and the 2013-14 Philadelphia 76ers.

Although they are now 2-26, there has been talk of the Pistons taking a surprise approach at the trade deadline. That would probably just make fans even angrier at this point.
