Golden State Warriors Rumors: All-Star Forward Headed to Trade Block Amid Summer Shake-Up
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

During Thursday’s exit interview, Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. said that he believes the team has “enough assets to acquire good players.” He made this statement in passing as he was discussing Klay Thompson’s future with the Dubs, and he did not shed light on what or who these supposed “assets” might be.

According to reports, this could come in the form of former All-Star forward Andrew Wiggins.

Golden State Warriors Rumors: Dubs Open to Andrew Wiggins Trade

In a recent column for The Ringer, NBA insider Logan Murdock discussed the Warriors’ blueprint for the offseason. The way their 2023-24 campaign ended in heartbreak virtually guarantees some significant changes on the roster for next season, which unsurprisingly, could involve a major trade deal.

According to Murdock, the Warriors seem open to the possibility of trading away Wiggins in the offseason:

“League sources believe Andrew Wiggins will be included in trade talks this summer as the Warriors look to improve their roster. … The Warriors signed him to a four-year, $109 million extension that fall, but his Golden State tenure has been frustrating since the ink dried,” Murdock reported.

For what it’s worth, Wiggins just completed arguably his worst campaign as a Warrior in his five seasons in the Bay Area. He averaged 13.2 points on 45.3 percent shooting, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting 35.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Wiggins also missed time this year attending to an undisclosed personal matter, which incidentally, was also the case for the 6-foot-7 forward last season.

For all we know, Wiggins may have already played his last game for the Warriors.
